Chloe is doing really well. She has now reached Day 18 with no accidents for quite a long time now. I will continue to document her progress, but at much less frequent intervals.

House work!
No, don’t worry, I’m not blogging about general house work. Over the last few days we have decided that we wanted to re-paint our bedroom and smarten it up. We borrowed an electric wallpaper stripper from Kate’s sister and started to take off the wallpaper only to find the plaster was coming with it.
Day at the park
Now I have a decent camera I want to spend a bit of my time learning how to use it correctly. One way to do this is to take the kids out to the park and use them as my subjects.
My original intentions were to go over the park with Ryan, Chloe and Kate. Ryan went over to Kate’s sisters, and her nephew was around here with his friend. They both wanted to go to the park, but they needed an adult with them, so we went with them. As I got to the park, I noticed that the battery in the camera was dead! I had played with it more than I thought last night! Off I went back home to put it on charge.
The good thing about the battery for my camera is that it only takes 90 minutes to charge it! Once it was charged I headed over to the park, by then though, Kate’s nephew had gone back to his friends house so I was left with Chloe and Kate. All good though. I got some nice photos.
My new toy
I have a new toy, and by toy I mean a brand new nice Nikon D3100! I have been researching this camera for almost 6 months before actually committing to buy it. My sister recently purchased a nice compact camera. The Olympus PEN, which has interchangeable lenses. Having a go on this really made me want to actually go ahead and buy the one I wanted.
Using a dSLR is very different from using a normal point and shoot camera. You can zoom in, have manual focus, burst shots and different settings for each type of photograph you want to take. It’s all very complicated for a complete novice, not to mention scary!
Over the next couple of months I will inevitably be uploading some of the photo sessions I have. Obviously, they wont be great, but I am aiming to be much better than I currently am so if you are someone who enjoys photography, then I am sorry if you find my photos offensive!
No more nappies – Days 11 – 14
Ryan is amazing!
I have never before been in the position where I have been the one helping Ryan to do his homework. For the first time today I sat down with him while he read his book to me.
I was so shocked by his level of reading. He read an entire book in around five minutes. Each and every word was correct and pronounced properly. I could only sit there stunned with amazement. I’m so proud of him right now.
Not only is he doing well educationally, but his social life is growing rapidly. He’s starting to become friends with the other children who live around this area and at school and wanting to bring them back here or go over theirs. He really is starting to come into his own.
No more nappies – Day 9 and 10
Day after day, Chloe is amazing me more and more. Both yesterday and today she has woken up completely dry. As Kate previously said she seems to be pulling this off as a result of us waking her up before we go to bed and in the mornings and making her go to the toilet. Although this is not a brilliant strategy, it works, so I think we will be sticking with it.
Call of Duty: Black Ops – First Strike DLC
Treyarch have finally announced the arrival of the infamous Black Ops DLC for the PC platform that we have been waiting for ever since they released it for the Xbox 360 back on February 1st, and the long awaited 1.07 update which will hopefully fix the many performance issues that they didn’t correct before release.
Unfortunately along with the news that the DLC is finally coming, we have been told that the DLC will not be free and we will need to pay £11.49 if bought after release or with the 10% off pre-release special, £10.34. Which ever way you look at it, you will be paying a third of the price you paid for the original game.
All this DLC will have is 5 new maps for the multiplayer side of the game, is it really worth what they are asking? Although reluctant, I will be buying as I don’t like to have games with parts missing. If I own something, I might as well own it all even if it is blind robbery!
No more nappies – Day 8
Chloe really is starting to progress with coming out of nappies of a night time. Today is the third time in a row she has woken up dry.
I am really proud of her. The reward scheme we got going with the kids has really helped out over the past week with their behaviour and especially Chloe’s determination to not wet the bed of a night time has really impressed me. I hope she keeps up the effort.
No more nappies – Day 7
Chloe woke up this morning completely dry for the second day in a row, she is doing very well. We are so proud of her progress so far. It seems waking her up to go to the toilet before me and David go to bed is helping alot. We have also recently brought in a new reward scheme for both Ryan and Chloe.
It’s a picture of a sun flower marked with 1 to 5 on it, 5 being on the sun flower. Each time they are good they go up a number, each time bad, they go down. There is a sense of constant competition between them to see who can get to the top first. At the end of the week if they are on number 5, they get a reward. We haven’t actually decided what that reward is yet, because none of them have got to number 5!
With this reward scheme, Chloe is automatically put up a number if she wakes up dry. If she is wet, obviously she does not go down, as it’s not a naughty thing to wet the bed accidentally she stays where she is.
