A while back I got sent this text on skype by a friend, I have just found it again, and it made me laugh, so I thought I would share it with you!
The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.
In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publikenthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”.
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.
I won some tickets the other day to go and see a show at the Theatre. I have only been there twice before and was looking to go again! I was so happy that there were two tickets, as it enabled me to take Katie out for the evening and spend some time alone! I took some pictures during the show. Check them out below.
The show wasnt the normal type of thing I would go and pay to see, but Im glad I had the opportunity to go and see the show, it was very good!
I have been trying to get Ryan to interact with me more now that he is getting older. Ryan never really took to me as he took to Katie, and I would like this to change and I think I have finally found a way we can both be happy while playing and get bond more and get to know him as an individual!
Ever since Ryan had borrowed a DS from his cousin to play on, hes really getting into gaming, so I thought I might try him at the games on my PlayStation 3. I would start him off nice and easy with racing games and progress from there.
Eventually I would like to get him onto playing PC games along with me. He absolutely loves it when I’m playing Call of Duty or Counter-Strike. So my end goal would be to buy him a PC of his own and buy him the games I have so he can play with me online.
The only racing game that I do own for the PlayStation 3 is Gran Turismo 5 Prologue, which is alright, but it lacks the complete choice of cars in the full game. At the minute because of lack of funds, I am downloading racing car demos from the PlayStation Store, in hope to find a decent one that I can buy and be able to play properly.
I am going to give a quick review of each of the games I’m going to test out and then mark them out of 10.
I forgot to mention that there was a new Call of Duty: Black Ops video. This one is all about the wager match game mode. It looks very good.
They have taken one of the original game modes from Counter-Strike and then ported over to Call of Duty. The name? Gun Game! It was quite popular on Call of Duty 4, and now, they will be having it as an official game mode for Call of Duty 7! Brilliant! Check out the video to be amazed!
Ryan started school on Friday! I’m so proud of him, here a few pictures on his first day and of yesterday!
His first day -
Yesterday -
It seems that he is really enjoying primary school. I’m happy for him, he has been wanting to go there since he went back in June for a couple of taster sessions so they could get to know him! I shall be posting some more of his progress over the next couple of weeks, I will being using this as a means for me to determine his progression while at primary school!
Im really annoyed at O2 at the moment. I’m annoyed because of an update to my phone, which has been out almost 4 months, was finally released on the 7th September, and then borked up by my phone network!
Google brought out the update on the 20th May 2010, HTC obviously got their hands on it around that time, if not before to start slapping on their Sense UI to make it look all pretty, and released that in August, O2, got their hands on that shortly after and started slapping on their branding and bloatware.
O2 finally attempt to release the Android 2.2 update 2 days ago ( the 7th September ) and from what I can tell, failed immensely! Not only has this update been out almost 4 months, my phone network operator, has borked it so much, that they have bricked the HTC Desire and messed up Dells new tablet, the Dell Streak, which isn’t even the latest version of Android, its the 2.1 version, which came out in October 2009!
I like many others have vowed in the future to buy a totally network unbranded phone next time I upgrade. Im sick and tired having an update available for a device that I own, and then not being allowed to have it when it comes out. Instead I have to wait many months before I get the update! The wait between the initial release of Android 2.2 and HTC slapping on their Sense UI was long enough, May to August, I now have to wait an undisclosed amount of time before O2 can pull their fingers out of their asses and fix the mistake that they have made when releasing the update!
I now regret going for the cheaper option of buying my phone second hand. I should of bought it from The Carphone Warehouse brand new and unbranded, instead, I bought it from a guy that worked in the O2 shop, who didn’t want it any longer, because he had a Dell Streak, but then i think who should I feel more sorry for? Him or myself?
Went to the park today with the kids and snapped a few pictures! I Thought I would share them!
I had my mum down for the day to bring me some drawers that she didnt want when she moves house. Had a lovely chat with her about my sister and the kids. We even finally got some pictures of the kids together that she has been going on about for the best part of a year! Check out the photos that I took today below!
A while back I mentioned on my website before I changed everything over about what happened while I was on one of the Stagecoach buses that run around Winchester. I have received a reply from Stagecoach regarding the matter.
The original complaint I made was about the bus driver pulling away before Chloé and I had the chance to sit down, which resulted in me injuring myself. Its not the first time I have made this complaint to Stagecoach, but this time I have received a proper reply concerning the matter!
The Reply;
Dear Mr Miller,
Thank you for your visit to our offices, from which I was very sorry to hear about the driver of the Switch5 bus did not wait until you had taken a seat before pulling away.
All employees are subject to continuous training and development and we pride ourselves upon the standards of our drivers. It is therefore always disappointing to receive complaints of such a nature. All of our drivers are trained to, where possible and within reason, wait until the passengers have taken a seat before pulling away from bus stops. From the information you supplied, I have been able to identify the driver concerned, and he has been interviewed with regards to the matter. His driving standard will be monitored from time to time and he has been advised that any further reports of this nature will be viewed very seriously.
Please accept my sincere apologies for any distress caused by this incident. I do hope that your future journeys with Stagecoach will be trouble free, but should I been of any assistance on a future occasion, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Thank you for bringing this matter to my attention.
Yours sincerely
Richard Tyldsley
Operations Manager
To me, this is not an acceptable resolution to the matter. I would of prefered something much harsher. If I hadnt of hurt myself in trying to not hurt Chloé and she was the one who ended up hurt because I landed on her, I would be forced to take the matter further, which wouldnt be good for them! Stagecoach has a responsibility to make sure their drivers are driving safely and adhear to driving regulations concerning passengers!
There are plenty of cameras on the buses that are in Winchester, so I dont see how this could become a problem in the first place. It only takes somone a couple of hours a day to review the videos to make sure the drivers are doing their job properly.
I might have a word with this Richard Tyldsley and put to him the idea of me doing a survey of the passengers to ask them a few questions;
I feel with a short and simple survey like that, we can understand how the drivers of Winchester Stagecoach are performing. Whether they are performing as good as they are expected to by the public, who pay for the service or not! Let me know your thoughts!
